At BPSee, we are committed to protecting your privacy. BPSee is designed as a 100% serverless, on-device health utility. This Privacy Policy explains how your data is processed, stored, and protected within the application.
1. Zero Server Architecture & Data Storage
BPSee operates with no backend servers. We do not collect, harvest, transmit, or monetize your medical logs or personal information.
- Local Sandboxing: All blood pressure readings, pulse values, dates, times, and screen crops are stored securely in your iOS application sandbox using
UserDefaultsand native file systems. - iCloud Private Storage: If you enable CloudKit synchronization, your data is uploaded directly to your private Apple iCloud container. The transmission is encrypted by Apple, and the database is only accessible to you through your personal Apple ID. The developers of BPSee cannot access this database.
2. Camera and Photo Library Permissions
BPSee utilizes your iPhone camera and photo library to streamline blood pressure digitizing.
- Camera Access: The camera is used solely to capture real-time video streams for optical character recognition of blood pressure monitors. The neural network processes video frames locally on-device.
- Zero Image Harvesting: We do not capture or save full-size videos or full-size photos of your surroundings.
- LCD Screen Crops: When a reading is locked, the app automatically crops a tiny 1:1 image of the LCD monitor area for visual double-checking. This cropped image is stored locally in your sandbox and is never transmitted to us or any third party.
3. Apple Health (HealthKit) Integration
With your explicit permission, BPSee reads and writes blood pressure and heart rate measurements to and from Apple’s native Health App (HealthKit).
- Local API Calls: All HealthKit synchronization happens directly on your device. We do not extract your historical HealthKit data to external databases.
- User Control: You can grant or revoke HealthKit access at any time through the iOS System Settings under
Settings -> Health -> Data Access & Devices -> BPSee.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
In-app purchase subscriptions are handled exclusively by Apple Inc. via StoreKit 2.
- Payment Processing: Apple manages all credit card transactions, invoices, and payment tokens. BPSee has no access to your payment credentials.
- Subscription Management: Free trials and premium purchases are tied to your Apple ID. Cancellations and refund requests must be managed via your Apple App Store account settings.
5. Contact Us
Because we do not have a server database or store your email address, we do not have automated user account records. For technical inquiries, support, or feedback, please contact us at: support@iloug.dev.
